Dramatic back-lit picture of cryovolcanism on Enceladus, a moon of Saturn. The moon’s surface is almost entirely frozen water ice, which periodically and dramatically erupts with giant plumes of liquid water. The heat required for this to occur is caused by Saturn’s tidal forces.
